Smart Solutions Plastering and Decorating was formed with customer satisfaction, high quality workmanship and fair prices as its foremost concern.
Managing Director Ben Troman has a qualified team of men to complete all aspects of plastering and decorating with precision and care.
All of our tradespeople have a minimum of 10 years on site experience. We are very committed tradespeople who will work weekends and up to 14 hours a day to meet deadlines and get the job done if it is needed.
Smart Solutions Plastering and Decorating are experts in all types of plastering including Traditional Float and Set, Dry Lining/Dry Wall systems, the full range of Rendering, MF/GYPLINER Ceilings, Metal Partitioning and of course Coving and Cornice.
We offer a complete decorating service covering internal/external, domestic and commercial works. Achieving deadlines is as important to us as it is to you but we won’t compromise on our quality of finish and workmanship.
We are happy to quote for work of any size and budget across Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire.

This can be done to provide a new finished plaster coat over existing ceilings and walls whether existing plaster or artex. The finish coat is also applied to new plasterboard and wet plastered walls such as Sand and Cement, BG Hardwall etc. With the products on the market today it is possible to apply a skim coat to glass!

Floor levelling compound:

This can applied to most existing floors to raise or level any imperfections.


Typically is the creation of a solid wall backing coat onto the building inner skin of brick/blockwork.

Lime plastering:

A more traditional method of rendering namely on older or heritage properties, it uses a lime and putty mix.

Floor screeding:

Can be done either traditionally with a grit and cement mix or the newer liquid flow method.


Is a coating of substrate to cover the exterior skin of brick/block work on a building. It can also be applied to most external features.

Dry lining:

An example is the application of plasterboard to timber/metalwork with screws or to brick/blockwork with an adhesive compound.
